Faculty of Law, Chulalongkorn University will host the 9th LAWASIA International Moot Competition 2014 (International Rounds) during October 2-6, 2014.
This year’s LAWASIA Moot Problem was inspired by a recent (23rd April, 2013) factory collapse in Savar, Bangladesh, which killed more than 1,000 people and injured another 2,500 victims, including many children in the company’s day care centre. Mooters are also required to argue on whether Spear Shirts, which is a mere customer i.e. a third party can be held liable for the injuries and death of Mae Sot Clothing’s employees. The Moot Problem, as direct as it may seem contain hidden issues which mooters have to brainstorm both from a commercial and legal perspective.
